In January of this year, 74.45 million cigarettes containing tobacco were imported from Turkey to Azerbaijan for a total of $1,397,600.
Yeniavaz.com reports with reference to official data, not a single cigarette was imported to Azerbaijan from abroad during the same period last year.
It should be noted that more cigarettes were imported in January of this year alone than in the 12 months of last year. Thus, last year, 56.6 million cigarettes were imported from Turkey to Azerbaijan, 15.4 million from Bulgaria, and 1.8 million from China.
For information, the average customs value of cigarettes imported from Turkey to Azerbaijan in January was 3.2 kopecks, or 64 kopecks per pack of 20 cigarettes.
