12-day holiday kicks off in Azerbaijan

In Azerbaijan, a 12-day holiday has kicked off for the Novruz and Ramadan holidays, APA reports.

This year, due to the Novruz and Ramadan holidays, there will be 12 consecutive non-working days in the country in March.

Based on the Cabinet of Ministers' decision dated December 11, 2024, the Novruz holiday will be on March 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24, 2025. Since March 22 and 23 falls on Saturday and Sunday, according to the Labor Code, March 25 and 26 will be non-working days. According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, in order to ensure the continuity of work and rest days, March 27 and 28, 2025 workdays, and the rest days of March 10 and April 1 will be swapped.

Since March 8, International Women's Day, falls on a Saturday, according to the Labor Code, March 10 should have been a non-working day.

In addition, since March 30 is Ramadan holiday and falls on a Sunday, April 1 should be considered a non-working day.

Thus, since March 29 and 30 falls on Saturday and Sunday, March 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31 will be non-working days on the Novruz and Ramadan holidays this year.
