US-Armenia discuss military cooperation, sign an agreement

Minister of Defense of Armenia Suren Papikyan met with the US Ambassador to Armenia, Kristina Kvien, APA reports.
The current state of cooperation between Armenia and the U.S. in the defense field, future development prospects, as well as issues related to regional security were discussed at the meeting.
According to the Armenian media, the U.S. side expressed readiness to continue supporting the defense reforms in Armenia.
Papikyan and Kvien also signed an agreement to extend the validity period of the Agreement between the Government of Armenia and the Government of the U.S. Concerning Cooperation in the Area of Counterproliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction.
