US-based Stirling Foundation to provide financial assistance regarding with mine threat in Azerbaijan

Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov has met with Edward Rowe, the CEO for the Stirling Foundation of United States, ANAMA told APA.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the importance of the assistance provided by international organizations in eliminating the landmine problem that Azerbaijan faces, including the importance of foreign donor assistance in this direction.

Edward Rowe said that the destruction in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan is regrettable, but the reconstruction works carried out in those areas are commendable. He specially noted the huge importance of humanitarian demining activities in the work done, as well as the intent of the Stirling Foundation to provide further financial support to the activities carried out by Azerbaijan in the combat against the mine threat.
