Azerbaijan allocates two hospitals regarding holding of COP29 in the country

A Working Group has been established at the Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions (TABIB) for the purpose of implementing the action plan regarding the holding of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), the 19th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol and the 6th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement, TABIB told APA.

It was reported that on the first day of the event, 4 medical centers and 4 emergency medical aid brigades created by TABIB will operate in the place where COP29 will be held: "Overall it is planned for 30 emergency medical aid brigades to provide services during the event. In areas where the highest number of guests are accommodated, medical stations and medical aid brigades will operate 24 hours a day during the event.

In cases where the need for stationary medical services arises, the Central hospital of oilworkers and Yeni Klinika have been allocated to provide specialized medical care. Central hospital of oilworkers will have a total capacity of 60 beds, including a 10-bed Burn Center. Yeni Klinika, on the other hand, is allocated 550 beds for stationary services. Additionally, considering the possibility of infectious diseases or emergencies, modular hospitals under the Mehemedi, Bilgah, and Clinical Medicine Center has been adapted to the needs of the service."
