Georgia's participation in PACE is not an option, but an obligation - President Roussopoulos

"Georgia's participation in PACE is not an option, but an obligation," Theodoros Roussopoulos, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), said in a statement to journalists, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.

He emphasized that the credentials of the Georgian delegation have been approved, and therefore participation in the assembly is not an option, but an obligation: "The Parliamentary Assembly is not a partial agreement, it is a statutory body whose participation is not an option but an obligation. Since the credentials were accepted, they must be in the assembly. This is their obligation."

Russopoulos noted that the issue was discussed thoroughly last night, will continue to be discussed in the coming weeks, and the decision will be made at the PACE session in April.
